Rusal to launch second line at Boguchansk smelter at end-March

MOSCOW, March 12 (Reuters) – Russian aluminium producer Rusal plans to launch the second line of its Boguchansk aluminium smelter in Siberia at the end of this month, the company said on Tuesday. Rusal, which was hit by U.S. sanctions imposed against it in April and lifted in January, was previously cited as saying it plans to expand the smelter’s production capacity to 298,000 tonnes per year from 149,000 tonnes.
