(FM) Aluminium Corporation of China (Chalco) is to cut as much as 470,000 tonnes of aluminium production, according to an announcement on its website on November 30.The company said its Shangdong Huayu and Shanxi Huasheng refining units have been placed on “flexible output guidance”, which, it said, may result in production cuts of up to 470,000 tonnes. Chalco’s official spokesman could not be reached for comment by the time of publication, but two other company officials confirmed the production cuts
