SP Global reported that Anglo American expects to produce 42,000-44,000 tpnne of nickel next year, in line with forecast production for 2018. The UK listed mining group said that for 2020 and 2021, output is expected to edge up to around 45,000 tonne per year.

Anglo’s nickel unit costs excluding royalties and depreciation are seen marginally lower at around USD 3.60/lb this year, down from $3.65/lb in 2017, and is expected to rise to around USD 4.00/lb in 2019.

The company’s nickel assets are located in Brazil, with two ferronickel production sites Barro Alto and Codemin in the state of Goias.
